Emily Richards was born and raised in Birmingham before studying for a BA in English at the University of East Anglia. She then moved to the Big Smoke to teach English and Drama, before heading to the less big but more smoky Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to do the same job while cultivating a sun tan.
After returning to the UK and gaining an MA with distinction from the University of Warwick, Emily began focusing all of her attention on ghostwriting and writing for children. She has since been longlisted for the Mslexia Children’s Novel Competition and the Lucy Cavendish College Fiction Prize, and recently won second place in Retreat West’s Flash Fiction Contest. She loves running, reading, exploring, eating vegetarian food and curling up with a cryptic crossword and her cat.
