An award-winning advertising creative, since leaving London in 2008, Ben has worked as a charcoal burner and woodsman, based in the West Country. He has appeared in several publications including: Country Living, The Field, BBC Countryfile Magazine and Hole & Corner Magazine. In September 2020, Country Living featured him as one of their top ten British artisans. Spindle Films have also made a short film on his life, entitled The Woodsman. Writing credits include a year of quarterly contributions for The Countryman as well as the essay “An Uncomplicated Life”, which was published on nature-writing specialist Little Toller Book’s online portal, The Clearing. He is also a QEST scholar and outside his life in the woods, a national sea rowing champion.
