Andy Stanton’s recent visit to St Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School in Battersea was featured in The Evening Standard’s  Get London Reading Campaign. 75 pupils from St Mary’s in years 3-6 attended, each of whom were kindly given a free copy of Mr Gum in The Hound of Lamonic Bibber by Egmont…

…Andy is a big supporter of the campaign and said:

“The Standard’s literacy campaign is absolutely fantastic. If you are a reader you know what a solace, and an escape books are and how inspiring they can be. They really do open up whole new worlds. . .”

The event was set up through BBC Radio 2’s 500 Words competition so while he was there, Andy encouraged his audience to enter the competition and gave them some writing tips!
