In addition to the recent stream of wonderful media attention for Christine Hamill, author of B is for Breast Cancer, she has also recently… …been interviewed for the Irish News. In the interview she discusses the most important things to take to a mastectomy and her own experience of of radiotherapy and prosthesis. She also mentioned how helpful Kylie Minogue‘s appearance in Doctor Who was in reassuring her son: “Kylie was starring in it. I was able to say to him ‘look, she’s had breast cancer and she is fine‘.”

She also spoke of how her book serves as a crucial warning to other women, “I found the lump. I reported it when I really wanted to pretend it wasn’t there. I faced up to what might happen. I did what I had to. I am alive.”
