Will has a professional background working as a strategist in the creative and research industries. Here, his experience has primarily focussed on building an understanding of youth culture and audiences. His research into youth culture has taken him to various places around the globe, including the US, Japan and Ethiopia. 

Will studied English Literature at the University of Sussex, where he specialised in feminist literature and theory. His writing has since concentrated on issues relating to gender identity and cultural diversity, with a particular focus on modern masculinity. He has written for publications including CALMzine, with a TV appearance on International Men’s Day to promote its work in raising awareness of male suicide in the UK. 

Will has also written for the Guardian on the need for the creative industries to better reflect the cultural diversity of the UK and is a founding member of the Great British Diversity Experiment. He has also contributed to British Values, a fanzine celebrating immigrant communities and experience in the UK. He also helped deliver youth-led publication Live Mag UK. 

With mixed British and Japanese heritage, Will maintains a keen interest in diversity and cross-cultural identity and experience. As a child, he spent time growing up in Okinawa before moving back to England. He returned to Japan as an adult where he worked as an English teacher. He currently lives in South London.

Will is currently working on a submission for a non-fiction exploring modern masculinity and contemporary male identity.
