Claire Carroll, whose debut short story collection, The Unreliable Nature Writer, will be published by Scratch Books on 6th June 2024, has been interviewed by Liam Bishop for Rippling Pages Podcast.

In the interview, which you can listen to in full here, Claire discusses her new debut collection and provides a “truly candid insight into the workings of craft and being a writer” as she talks about dream theory, unreliable narrators, animals, nature and the climate crisis, authority, and much more.

The Unreliable Nature Writer comprises 18 stories with themes of late capitalism, climate anxiety and personal loss, and includes brand-new stories alongside previously published works such as The White Review Short Story Prize-shortlisted My Brain is Boiling with Ideas, in which a woman begins an affair with an android. Claire’s short fiction and poetry have previously been published by journals including The London MagazineGutterperverseLunateThe Oxonian Review, and Short Fiction.
