HarperFiction has announced another “gripping” novel by bestselling author Jane Shemilt, following the publication of her latest psychological suspense thriller The Patient.

As announced in The Bookseller, editorial director Phoebe Morgan bought UK and Commonwealth rights to The Therapist from Eve White. North American rights were acquired by Rachel Kahan at William Morrow in the US. The book will be published in April 2023.

The Therapist is a gripping suspense novel that opens on the island of Paxos. The devastating consequences of an incident perpetrated by the drunk guests of a wealthy English holiday homeowner play out in a twisty story of revenge and hubris that spans 20 years…

Eve White said that The Therapist‘s “fiendish mystery and its elusive solution left [her] hungry to turn the pages,” while Morgan praised Jane as “a nuanced, clever, emotionally accurate writer who delivers high-quality novels that never fail to impress.”
