Rae Earl has recently revealed her “top tips for brilliant fan fiction that makes [her] go ‘OMG!'” on the official My Mad Fat Diary tumblr…

…Her ‘top tips’ included introducing new characters, exploring the characters’ lives in the future and changing the story’s original setting. She also encouraged budding writers to write their own diaries “put your brain on record all the time […] drama is happening all the time. Being aware of it will make you a better writer”.

Rae Earl’s most recent book in the Mad Fat series, My Madder Fatter Diary was released earlier this year and Season 2 of My Mad Fat Diary began on E4 on 17th February and is now available on 4oD.
