My Mad Fat Diary by Rae Earl will air in January 2013. Episode one will be transmitted at 10 p.m. on January 14th on E4.
Channel 4’s website describes the series: ‘Sharon Rooney stars in this six-part drama that looks at life from the perspective of funny, music-mad 16-year-old Rae, based on the real-life diaries of Rae Earl.’
In the opening episode, Rae is discharged from psychiatric hospital after months of treatment.
Back in the real world, all she wants is to be a normal teenager, but when you’re secretly mad and your mother is hiding her new Tunisian boyfriend from immigration, it’s not that simple.
Rae discovers her best friend Chloe is hanging out with a new gang, but will she be able to fit in with them?
