The Times Crime Club has praised Rebecca Reid‘s brand-new thriller The Will, describing it as “a complete hoot”.

“The mystery in this country house mystery is not whodunit but who will get it — it being a crumbling pile called Roxborough Hall in Norfolk. Matriarch Cecily Mordaunt is dead, but in her family it isn’t the immediate heir who inherits, but the relative judged most worthy.

A large cast of colourful characters, each with their own agenda, ensures the stately home rapidly becomes a snake pit. The tension mounts as the contents of eight letters from Cecily are revealed: “I haven’t given Roxborough to you because I don’t think you need it.” A complete hoot.”
