Inventory

Darran Anderson has written a piece for music magazine The Quietus in which he compiles a companion playlist to his latest book, Inventory.

“The following songs reflect certain aspects of Inventory and the time span it covers, up until the late nineties. They’re naïve and not much of a coherent mixtape but they are part of that memory theatre Walter Benjamin spoke of. Like objects, they can tell us very different things, depending on the listener. They’re all items, discarded and precious, “in the foul rag and bone shop of the heart.'” Read the full piece here.

Inventory is out now in the US from Farrar, Strauss and Giroux – grab your copy here. You can buy your copy of Inventory in the UK and Ireland here, or, better, at your local bookshop.
