News  ·  “One to Watch”: Len Pennie’s Poyums Out This February

poyums, the debut collection by Scots language poet Len Pennie, has been named “One to Watch” this February by The Bookseller.

The segment in this week’s edition reads:

“Performance poet Pennie, who writes mainly in the Scots language and champions minority languages, survivors of domestic abuse and the de-stigmatisation of mental illness, has a substantial online following, including 610k on TikTok. When she shared her poem ‘I’m No Havin’ Children’ it went viral and her fans now include Michael Sheen, Nigella Lawson and Ian MacMillan.

The poems in this jaunty and enjoyable collection, including letters to her younger self and adaptations of fairy tales written to process an abusive relationship, move deftly between English and Scots.”

poyums will be released on 22nd February 2024 and is available for pre-order now. You can order your copy here.
