The book’s plot begins at a boarding school in Salten, where Isa and her three friends used to play the Lying Game, competing to convince people of the most outrageous stories. Some 17 years later, their teenage games come back to haunt them when a deadly secret the girls hoped would remain buried on the local marshes comes to light.

Both Ruth’s debut, In a Dark, Dark Wood, and her second novel, The Woman in Cabin 10, have remained consistently in the best selling charts since publication.

“We are incredibly proud to be publishing Ruth Ware’s third novel. The Lying Game is a breathtakingly brilliant thriller with a twisting mystery at its heart. Full of suspense and evocative gothic atmosphere, The Lying Game showcases all the talent that has made Ruth Ware an international bestseller.” Harvill Secker, Vintage
