After qualifying as a solicitor, Gordon taught law in London and America, where he met and married his wife Anne. They have two daughters: Amelia and Verity. On returning to the UK, he set up his own law practice in the West Country and continues to live in Bath. His Mastermind subject would be 1960s pop, and he is old enough to admit seeing The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix in concert.
