Mark Haysom author of ‘Love, Love Me Do’ has spoken to The Irish Times about the research he has done for his latest book, his favourite book at the moment…

…and where and how he writes, in an interview posted on Monday (1 September).

On his favourite book as a child, Mark said, “I’m not sure I had one: “favourite” implies some kind of ability to discriminate. I read everything, all the time, indiscriminately.”

Whilst he advises aspiring authors to “Grow a thick skin and never give up. Unless you are extraordinarily fortunate, there are going to be a great many setbacks along the way. But, if you believe enough (and if you have ability), you will get there in the end.”
